Our village has two neighbourhood watch schemes in place, one for Hillside Avenue, and the second being Breezemount estate.
Our community policeteam recommend that each estate or area within the village should have its own scheme in operation, with links between the participating groups.
Kitty Williamson is the co-ordinator for Hillside Avenue, a group which has been in place for over 2 years. Cathy Armstrong has been recently appointed co-ordinator for Breezemount, which was granted the scheme in July 2008.
If you live in any other areas within the village and would be interested in setting up your own scheme, please contact either Kitty or Cathy for further information.
Although crime is not a major issue within our village, we would ask you to participate in your local scheme by continuing to be a good neighbour and watchful of other peoples property near your house, especially over the holiday periods. By taking in rubbish bins, and removing un-delivered mail from your neighbours houses whilst they are at work etc, you are already participating in your neighbourhood watch scheme.
