An activity day on Sunday 26th August 2007, was organised for the teenagers from our village, at Castlewellan Forest Park.

With the help of some parents, about 20 teenagers were taken away for the day, and were instructed, by a professional outbound company, in orienteering, archery and kayaking. We also all completed the maze in the park without losing anyone, and enjoyed a few team games to get us in the mood for the main activities of the day.

The team spirit was high as we all competed for the 1st place, but the craic was mighty, the jinks high, and it was all good fun and games.

The funding for the activities and the bus was received from the Rural Community Network, and the cost to our kids - a packed lunch!

We hope to try to arrange other funding for this kind of event, any ideas would be more than welcome
